About Me
I am a teacher and researcher. My work looks at multicultural marketing, globalization, consumer culture, global media, advertising, and visual communication. I focus on media and communication in developing countries and examine how gender, race, religion, disability, and nationality are represented in media and marketing.
At Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, I teach various undergraduate and graduate courses in different formats, including Research Methods in Mass Communication, Media Law and Policy, International Advertising, Transnational Media, Mass Media in Society, Media & Health, Media Campaigns, and Freshman Seminar.
Before SIUE, I taught at Temple University in Philadelphia, covering courses like Introduction to Advertising, Advertising Research, Morality and Law in Advertising, Media Gathering for Public Relations, Introduction to Mass Media, Public Speaking, and several online courses.
Teaching Distinction Award
In 2015, I received the Teaching Distinction Award from the University.
Phenomenal Woman Award
In 2018, I have also received the Phenomenal Women Award.
